How to Solve BlackBerry World Error On BlackBerry10 Devices

The error message; "An error has occurred and BlackBerry World must close. Try waiting a few minutes and then reopen BlackBerry World" is a common error with BlackBerry10 devices' BlackBerry World app and here, I discuss the solution to it.

The fore mentioned error is common with BlackBerry10 devices especially, BlackBerry Z10, Q10, Z30 and Z3. Obviously, this is a software error but it cannot be corrected by either performing a full wipe, factory reset or by flashing the phone. Rather, a simple logical approach is enough to solve the issue.

ISSUE: BlackBerry10 World App Force Closes or Fail to Connect the Internet

When the BlackBerry World on your BlackBerry10 devices fail to connect to the internet or brings this error message; "An error has occurred and BlackBerry World must close. Try waiting a few minutes and then reopen BlackBerry World" even when other applications like BBM, Browser and other applications on the phone are able to connect to the internet, then, you know you have a software issue on it.

CAUSES:

Up to the most recent update to the BlackBerry10 devices which is version 10.3.2.556 as at February 11, 2016, there are these software glitches in the BlackBerry World that makes it switch internet connection sources unconditionally between the WiFi and the Mobile Data of the phone provided that both are turned on as at that time. And this give BlackBerry World issues determining which is which.

SOLUTION:

1. Turn off the WiFi service on the phone.
2. Turn On the Mobile Data of the phone and make sure you have active internet connection at that time.
3. Lunch BlackBerry World and wait until it connects to the internet.
4. If WiFi Hotspot is your primary connect source, you can now switch on WiFi and connect to the hotspot.

Goodluck.
